Thanks for posting! I can't imagine my internet connection being cut in the UK just because someone thinks I am using it illegaly and causing other people problems, without evidence. They just need to be clear about the terms & conditions/rules. I can't find a ' fair use policy' (by the way this term is popular among the ISP's around the world ) on the Hornet website but I would certainly follow that rule if it exists. I can't imagine the University of Manchester/Hornet not being able to provide the same connection. I am paying about 30£/month for my current home internet connection where I can transfer gigabytes (if not terabytes) of legal data each month without causing anyone any problems. (is that even legal, lol) It may not cost them anything but the school fees (and etc.) do cost me approximately 20,000£ each year, as an international student. There's probably a fair use policy somewhere (350GB a month will almost certainly break it). If they think you're using it illegally and causing other people problems they can cut you off - it doesn't cost them anything. No, it'll cause you problems - they're not obliged to give you internet.
